Kirkman’s Pro-Bio Inulin Free™ is a variation based on Kirkman’s signature Pro-Bio Gold™, as it does not contain inulin.  This probiotic was developed to be more compliant with the Specific Carbohydrate Diet (SCD), which prohibits inulin.  Inulin has been replaced in this product with microcrystalline cellulose.  Though the SCD’s original protocol did not allow Bifido strains in a probiotic, many parents and physicians realized that continuing to use multi strain probiotics on the diet was beneficial and altered their stance on the Bifido strains.
